Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting the Stop Transactional Sex among Teens with Life Skills project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and concern for vulnerable girls facing difficult circumstances in their daily lives.
Across several low-income communities, many teenage girls struggle to meet basic needs such as food, school supplies, personal hygiene products, and transportation. Without reliable income or family support, some girls resort to transactional sex as a means of survival. This exposes them to serious risks, including HIV infection, sexually transmitted infections, unplanned pregnancies, exploitation, abuse, and school dropout.
We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the funds currently available are not sufficient to begin implementation of the project. Additional support is needed before participant selection, training activities, starter grants, materials procurement, and business support activities can commence.
This project aims to equip 1,000 vulnerable girls with practical skills in the production of hygiene products such as soaps, disinfectants, and reusable sanitary pads. Participants will also receive basic business guidance and small startup support to help them establish income-generating activities within their communities.
Providing practical livelihood skills can create alternative sources of income and reduce the pressures that push many girls toward risky survival strategies. The opportunity to earn income from small businesses can help participants meet personal needs, remain in school, and build greater confidence in their future.
We remain committed to implementing this project and continue working toward the resources needed to launch the first phase. As progress is made, we look forward to sharing updates, photographs, and stories from the girls who will benefit from this intervention.
Thank you for helping create safer opportunities and brighter futures for vulnerable teenage girls.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
