RSKS India is always working for improving health of poor women and girls because they lack awareness and resources example during menstruation, women in villages use cloth till today which affect their health and personal hygiene so to overcome this problem, RSKS along with the support of donors and GG is running programs in rural areas which help in improving the health condition of these women.
RSKS India along with donors and GG support helped rural women by making them aware through an awareness camp on health development by a program named as ‘’BE FREE - Be Happy - Be Smile.
This program was organized for rural village women and girls in which distribution of 1100 sanitary pads for the monthly menstruations period of women. All this work was done in twenty two villages. In villages, women till today don’t use pads during menstruations. To create awareness in this field, a discussion of this topic is done among rural women to make them self aware about the personal hygiene and health.
By this awareness camp, promotion of use of sanitary pads during monthly menstruation was done. More than 1000 women including young girls get awareness in 22 workshops in many villages.
At end of the workshops a pledge is taken with women to use pads during menstruation and ask them to promise to take good care of their health and personal hygiene during menstruation. And now they will fell free during menstruation as they now find it healthy.

During the workshops a girl named sunaina came up and spoke about her menstruation problem faced in village, the biggest problem is that they cannot talk about their menstruation as they feel bad and it’s not allowed so they have to follow old norms and for them menstruation is treated as untouchables and are forced to use cloth due to lack of resources. So she never shared her view on this topic with her mother because she feels scared. now she is very happy and aware on this topic.
