HUG Project, one of FCF's projects, works to protect children in Thailand from online exploitation. That work has had to change quickly. Predators are now using AI to fake images, voices, and identities, which makes them much harder for kids to recognize.
This year, the HUG team taught digital safety workshops in schools and reached 1,230 students. They updated their curriculum to explain what AI is and how criminals misuse it, including fake images used for blackmail, cloned voices of family members, AI-driven bullying, fake news, and manipulative chatbots. Students also learned practical ways to protect themselves, where to report problems, and how to get help for themselves or a friend.
The need is real. HUG worked alongside police on the case of a young girl who had been groomed by an offender she met through an online game. HUG helped police obtain the offender's account information from the platform, which led to his arrest. HUG also connected the family with psychologists and continues to support them as the child recovers.
This is the kind of work FCF exists to support. Thank you for standing with HUG Project and the children they serve!
