Smile Charity South Sudan proposes a dedicated peacebuilding and reconciliation initiative targeting conflict-affected communities in Nyiror County, Jonglei State, South Sudan. Nyiror County has experienced recurring intercommunal conflicts, including cattle raiding, revenge attacks, and land disputes. These cycles of violence have left deep trauma, eroded trust, and weakened traditional conflict resolution systems. Many community members, especially youth and women, feel excluded from peace processes, while grievances remain unresolved. Without targeted interventions, communities risk continued instability and retaliation.
SCSS project will: Conduct 12 community dialogue forums bringing together elders, youth, women, and leaders to openly discuss grievances, share perspectives, and identify solutions. Establish and train 10 inclusive peace committees in mediation, early warning, and non-violent conflict resolution. Hold trauma healing workshops for 300 community members affected by violence, reducing fear and resentment. Train 50 youth peace ambassadors to lead peer-to-peer reconciliation activities and co
