Dear Sponsors,
We are excited to share an update about Bertha and the impact your support is having in her life.
As you may know, Adaklu Dawanu has struggled with access to clean water. The community borehole has been faulty, forcing families and students to rely heavily on unsafe water from the Dawa River for cooking, drinking, washing, and bathing. This situation has created daily challenges for the community.
For Bertha, this has meant added strain on her health and her daily life.
Because of the generous donation from The Academy school, the Dawanu Water Project is moving forward. The old borehole is being repaired and a new borehole has been drilled that will reach clean water even in the dry season so that the school and the surrounding community will have reliable access to safe water. This will significantly reduce the need to depend on untreated river water and lower the risk of waterborne illness.
What this means for Bertha:
• Fewer sick days
• Less time spent walking to the Dawa River to fetch water
• Greater stability in her daily routine
Access to clean water may seem simple, but for Bertha it changes everything. When children are healthy, they learn better. When they feel safe and cared for, they grow in confidence.
Your sponsorship is not just supporting her education. It is strengthening the entire environment around her so she can succeed.
Thank you for believing in Bertha and walking alongside her journey. Your continued support is creating real and lasting change in Dawanu.
