Summary

Malaria remains one of the top killers in Nigeria, yet many patients in low-income communities cannot afford treatment. This project will provide antimalarial medication to 1,500 patients in rural clinics and urban slums. Fast treatment helps prevent complications, reduce spread, and save lives. Timely support is urgent, as delays can turn mild symptoms into deadly illness.

Challenge

Many people in low-income areas of Nigeria suffer from malaria but cannot afford treatment. The cost of medication, tests, and clinic visits keeps them at home, where the illness gets worse. Malaria spreads quickly and untreated cases lead to weakness, lost income, or death. Clinics are overwhelmed and lack enough supplies to help everyone in need.

Solution

This project will supply antimalarial drugs to clinics in areas with high cases of malaria. Staff will give treatment to patients and help with fever control. The drugs will be purchased in bulk to cover 1,500 people. Each patient will also get advice on how to recover safely and what symptoms to watch for. Extra funds will help clinics manage patient flow.

Long-Term Impact

Fewer people will suffer or die from malaria when they can get treatment early. By helping 1,500 people recover quickly, the project also reduces the chance of spreading the illness to others. The support will ease pressure on clinics and help communities return to work, school, and normal life sooner. Treated patients are less likely to relapse or fall into debt from hospital bills.
