Biggi Junior schools provide a subsidized, nurturing & holistic education that imparts in every child the essential knowledge, values and skills they need to positively contribute to their communities. We extend our reach to children aged 3 -15 in parts of Northern and Central Uganda. Your donation goes towards tuition and critical infrastructure like learning materials (for fundamental subject areas including STEM), classrooms, school toilets and training supplies.
Despite the economic progress seen in Uganda in the last couple of decades and government's support for education, poverty has continued to pervade several families. Children in Apolla for instance, can hardly access a proper education. Schools in the region lack basic facilities, teachers being unmotivated and frequently absent. Even after 13 years of schooling, graduates still lack the basic skills, making it impossible to seek gainful employment or pursue higher education.
Education is the only ladder for these rural children to climb out of poverty. Apolla and Bweya Biggi Junior Schools will create a bright future for 200 underprivileged children in Nebbi and Wakiso by providing decent infrastructure, joyful learning aids, computers, English language programs & holistic development through sports, yoga & nutritious meals. The schools actively promote girl education, health & hygiene. They also extend support to one government school, impacting 500+ children.
Children passing out of our schools will receive quality education integrated with life-skills such as computer literacy and holistic development, which would enable them to realize their full potential in any field they choose. This education is the key to lifting them and their families out of the vicious cycle of poverty. Teacher augmentation, English & remedial teaching in the neighboring Govt. school will lead to improved quality of education producing more confident & productive children.
