Thanks to our donors through GlobalGiving since May 2017, 2 more women in Eskisehir were able to get a loan to invest in their micro businesses. H.B. has been knitting and selling these products to earn an income. Since her husband passed away in early years of their marriage, she has been able to earn a living and send her 3 children to school thanks to this income. She has been doing this business from home. She is now 61 years old and still continues to work. She took her fourth loan of 1700TL to buy bulks of materials she uses for knitting. S.Y. has also been doing the same business from home to earn an income. She has a child with sight disability and hence did not have a chance to find a job outside her home and had to do her business from home. She is now 55 years old. She took her fourth loan of 1700TL to buy bulks of materials she uses for knitting.
Since June 2015, KEDV raised a total of USD 6,304.67 through 96 donations through GlobalGiving and disbursed loans to 16 low income women for their micro businesses and gave financial literacy training to 15 women in addition to these 16. We still have a long way to reach our target of USD 70.000 to be able to support 200 low income women entrepreneurs. We would be grateful if you could continue to spread the word and share the project link in your networks.
Warm regards…
