IT'S THEIR FUTURE...BUT IT'S OUR FIGHT!

Dear Friends,

We trust that the lord has kept you well. Our second school term resumed on Monday 22/05/2017. Students have well reported for studies and the school’s daily routine are moving on well. We are currently doing online training with GlobalGiving helping us learn better way to serve our community. Well-done Supporters for the generous support!

Our older students in other schools and those within God’s Love Vocational (GLV) School continue to enjoy their life time at God’s Love House (GLH) to the Glory of God. May I share Grace’s story with you. She was miserable when she joined GLH and now is a happy girl.

GLH staff met Grace at small trading centre called Bwaise about 300 metres away from GLH. The staff had gone to have lunch there in one of the hotels where 7-year-old Grace was working as a waiter. As Grace opened a hotel cupboard, the entire top shelf collapsed and about 10 heavy glass oven dishes fell on her causing cuts, scratches and punctured skin. Instead of her employer caring for her, the boss beat her up for causing the loss. This made our staff to intervene, helping Grace get First Aid and taking the employer to the police for ‘’Child Abuse’’.

Grace explained how she came to live with the employer was after losing her parents and came looking for a job to sustain her life and perhaps go back to school.

GLH immediately took a step to help Grace by adopting her and getting her back to school.
Today, Grace is a living testimony developing her sewing skills at GLV. She can now sew shirts, skirts, trousers, renovating old skirts into shirts… She hopes to continue to live a happy life after GLV when she has fully learnt employable skills of sewing… We thank you all for being behind Grace and please continue to do so.

For just $30, you can help one girl attend vocational education and be fed each month at GLV
You could also join us at https://www.globalgiving.co.uk/donate/16818/engozi-za-mukama-gods-love-home/ In July 12 GlobalGiving has a Rewards Bonus Day and in August there is the International Youth Week Campaign for you give up one night to help fight for girls like Grace. Please help us spread the word by sharing Grace’s story with your family and friends and encourage them to take a stand for those who have no voice.
It’s their future….but it’s our fight!

Blessings,

Fun day at GLH
