Dear Friends!

Apology for late January newsletter. I messed up on my computer hence the delay to communicate

 Happy New Year 2022

On behalf of the youngsters, staff and the whole God’s Love Home and School community, an enormous thank you for you for your help including funding our Christmas dinner which we enjoyed hugely. Please enjoy our pictures!  A Goat gift given, some sodas shared, it was a nice meal for the day. When we heard about the death of Mark’s wife, Margaret we never expected a goat any more -good to see the goat again and we praise the Lord for it.

On 10-01-2022 our school re-started; we were closed from March 20 from covid-19 lockdown. Children are very excited returning to school. The present task is to settle in new students and find out how much our old students have learned , or forgotten, during lockdown.

Over the last three years there has been an increasing difficulty helping GLH children who leave Primary and want to go to secondary. ( Secondary school fees structure; UGX 350,000 for day students for a term and there are three terms a year.  We are so grateful for student sponsorship but clearly it does not cover secondary fees).  To help all would need a doubling of the budget.  One option we have tried with only partial success is 25% taught; rest self taught.  This requires high discipline and they have committed themselves to abide. (One of the pioneers on the original course has been accepted on a Nursery Teachers Course and is doing her practical component at GLS.  It would be great if someone would volunteer to pay her fees)

OUR building of GLS is nearly to completion – Thanks for your prayers and support -we have done most of the plastering and the upper part can now be used. Ceiling and electricity work and some minor plasters is what we are looking forward too.
