By Deepa Pullanikkatil | Co-Founder Abundance
Roffing is completed for the Rice Mill building
We are happy to report that the roofing on the Rice Mill is now complete! We are currently working on installing windows and doors.
We are thankful to Shiva Priya, a student of Middlebury College Public Service who won a Leadership Award honoring her outstanding service. The certificate is accompanied by a cash award of $500, which awardees can donate to the non-profit of their choice. Priya chose to donate their award to Abundance Worldwide.
Supporters such as Priya and you inspire us to go further and continue our work at Mbando village. Please enjoy some photoes of our work in this report.

Sharing some photoes of our Rice Mill
By Deepa Pullanikkatil | Chairperson of Board
Dear Supporters,
Hope you are all keeping well!
In this report, we would like to share progress made with the rice mill reconstruction. We are delighted to share with you some photoes showing progress. There were heavy stroms recently in Malawi and the building has proven to be strong and disaster safe.
The contractor has shared with us receipts of all the expenses he has made for the structure so far. Our accountant is going throught this and once he is satisfied with this, we will allocate funds for the roofing of the building. Moses Phulusa, our Community Coordinator at Mbando Village have been sharing with us updates on the progress and sending us photoes using his smartphone, which Abundance has provided through the Bio-Energy project's budget. We are glad to see that communication with Mbando Village has been restored since disruptions experienced due to Cyclone Eloise.
We thank you for all your support and will continue updating you on the progress of the rice mill which all of you are helping to build.

Urgent appeal for Rice Mill reconstruction.
By Deepa Pullanikkatil | Co-Founder Abundance
Dear Supporters,
Happy new year! Hope you and your family are doing well and we wish you good health, happiness and success in 2022!
The rains have started in Malawi. As you know the rainy season is a long one which runs from November to April. The heaviest rains are in December, January and February. Our priority project for 2022 is the reconstruction of the Rice Mill, which will provide livelihoods to 16 women and families in Mbando.
We are worried the rains can impeded construction work to some extend. We therefore urgently appeal to you to contribute before February 2022 so that once the heavy rains have ended, we can restart construction of the Rice Mill. The women have been paitiently waiting since Cyclone Elpoise damaged the existing rice mill building in January 2021. Since then, we have demolished the existing building which was unsafe and started reconstruction of the rice mill building. We only had funds for building the superstructure and need funds to complete the roof, windos, doors and other finishing works.
Lets start 2022 with compassion. Support the rice mill reconstruction and leave your legacy at Mbando village. Donors names will be painted at the Rice Mill as those who donated to this good cause.
With warm regards,
