From January to April 2026, the Foundation for Access to Rights (FAR), strengthened by the vital support of our partners and donors, remained steadfast in its mission to deliver critical legal, informational, and social aid to asylum seekers, refugees, and stateless persons across Bulgaria. During this four-month period, our organization served as a reliable anchor, providing direct, personalized legal support to 204 individuals navigating the complexities of national asylum procedures and pressing legal challenges. Recognizing that some situations require deeper intervention, our dedicated team provided intensive individual case management for 64 of these beneficiaries, ensuring tailored assistance for the most complex legal and social vulnerabilities, while the remaining individuals received expert legal consultations.
A cornerstone of our strategy remains breaking down geographical barriers and making reliable information universally accessible. Our online informational platform, Refugeelight.bg, experienced remarkable growth this quarter, reaching an incredible 144,000 users. It remains an indispensable digital tool, empowering thousands of displaced individuals to independently access trustworthy information about their rights, thereby fostering a sense of self-reliance and dignity.
In addition to our individualized aid and digital outreach, FAR significantly expanded its community presence across Bulgaria this quarter. Our lawyers conducted a series of vital informational sessions in four major cities: Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, and Varna. These sessions, which brought together over 300 beneficiaries, focused on critical issues regarding temporary protection, humanitarian status, and other legal pathways for residing in the Republic of Bulgaria. By facilitating these direct, face-to-face engagements, we continue to bridge the gap between displaced populations and the legal systems of their host country, ensuring that every person feels informed, supported, and secure in their journey toward safety and integration.
