Support Access to Rights for Refugees in Bulgaria

With your help, Foundation for Access to Rights continues to help people in need by providing free legal assistance. Over the past months, you have helped us to give hope and bring the light back into the lives of migrants, refugees and stateless people. 

On a freezing night in Sofia, on Christmas Eve, a father finally embraced his two children and their mother after a long wait. The family is from the city of Homs, refugees from the civil war in Syria. Months later, two more families were reunited. Also, Syrians fleeing the war, now in Sofia, they are ready to move on with their lives together after months of separation. Four children have the opportunity to grow up away from the war, to learn, to develop, and perhaps one day to become lawyers providing legal support to others in their situation.

These are just a few of the miracles the FAR team helped make happen with the concerted support from different sources.

Our beneficiaries often offer to pay us despite their meagre financial means in the hope that their rights will be protected. We believe that access to rights should not depend on one's financial means, background or situation.

With your support, we guarantee the legal protection of people from Syria and Ukraine, Afghanistan and South Africa, people fleeing conflict and persecution, helping their stories have a somewhat happy ending.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, our team has provided free legal assistance to over 4,500 Ukrainian refugees and will continue to do so. We also support Russian citizens who are making their position clear against the war and are forced to seek asylum. Our team also includes seven Ukrainian citizens who, despite the war, find the strength to help others. For them, FAR has become a light they share with those in need at this difficult time.
