Community Awareness Continues to Save Lives
Dear friend,
The recent confirmation of additional Ebola cases serves as a reminder that awareness remains one of the strongest defenses against the virus. In both Uganda and DRC, informed communities are better equipped to recognize symptoms, seek care quickly, and support containment efforts.
Your support has enabled continued community education activities in schools, markets, transport centers, and villages. These outreach efforts emphasize the importance of hand hygiene, symptom reporting, and cooperation with response teams.
As a result, more individuals are demonstrating an understanding of how Ebola spreads and what actions can help protect families and neighbors. Community volunteers report increased participation in awareness sessions and greater willingness to seek accurate health information.
These improvements may seem simple, but they play a critical role in preventing outbreaks from expanding. Knowledge helps reduce fear, counters misinformation, and encourages early intervention.
The fight against Ebola depends on informed communities working together with health authorities. Because of your generosity, thousands of people continue to receive lifesaving information that empowers them to take action and protect those around them.
Thank you for helping turn awareness into prevention.
