Khartoum was devastated by war, destroying the SAMA office founded by the late Dr. Bushra Ibnauf. As the city recovers, we aim to rebuild it as the Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Center for Learning, empowering a new generation of Sudanese youth and health professionals. Building on successful centers in Port Sudan and Gedarif, this initiative will restore opportunity, mentorship, innovation, and leadership, equipping young people to rebuild Sudan and shape a stronger future.
Khartoum's health and education systems have been severely disrupted by war, destroying critical infrastructure, including SAMA's training office. Thousands of young people and health professionals have lost access to learning, mentorship, and career pathways. Without urgent investment, a generation risks being left behind, weakening Sudan's recovery and the capacity of its health system to meet growing needs.
This project will rebuild the SAMA office as the Dr. Bushra Ibnauf Center for Learning in Khartoum, restoring a hub for training, mentorship, and professional development. It will deliver structured programs for youth and health professionals, expand access to skills and knowledge, and foster leadership. By reviving a proven model from Port Sudan and Gedarif, it will equip a new generation to strengthen Sudan's health system.
The long-term impact of these centers is the preservation of Sudan's intellectual capital. By preventing a "lost generation" of professionals, we ensure a ready workforce of healthcare and humanitarian leaders stays to rebuild. This project creates a scalable blueprint for resilient, solar-powered infrastructure nationwide. Beyond education, it fosters local agency and transparency in aid, shifting from dependency to a future led by skilled Sudanese experts with integrity and purpose.
