Dear Donors,
In the past months, we have been continuing our work with families affected by the floods — supporting them in everyday life, helping them rebuild, and simply being there where help is still needed.
Recently, we received a letter from one of the seniors we support in Radochów.
With her permission, we would like to share a part of it with you.
“I don’t know how to write letters like this, but I wanted to say thank you.
After the flood, I thought the worst part was over when the water went away. But it wasn’t. The worst part was what came after — the silence, the mess, and the feeling that I didn’t know where to start.
For a long time, I lived in just one room. The rest of the house didn’t feel like home anymore.
Then you started coming.
First with help, but later also just to sit for a moment. You brought things I needed, but also something I didn’t expect — calm.
Now I can cook in my kitchen again. I have my things in place. I even planted flowers in front of the house this week.
It still isn’t how it used to be. But it is mine again.
Thank you for not forgetting about us after everything was over.”
This letter reflects what the past months have truly been about.
Not emergency anymore, but patient, everyday support:
helping people organize their homes again,
supporting them in daily tasks,
and being present long after the crisis disappeared from the headlines.
Because recovery does not happen all at once.
It happens slowly — in small steps, in ordinary days, and often in quiet moments like this one.
Thank you for making this possible.
For staying with us — and with them — when it matters most.
With gratitude,
Clementine Foundation
