Dear Donors and Friends,
Almost two years have passed since the devastating floods of September 2024 changed the lives of thousands of people in southern Poland.
Today, we can finally share some good news.
Thankfully, our flood relief efforts are slowly coming to an end.
Not because we are leaving people behind, but because many of the families we have supported no longer need the kind of help they needed in the months following the disaster.
Homes have been repaired. Essential household items have been replaced. Kitchens are working again. Rooms that were destroyed by water have once again become places where people live, rest, cook, and spend time with their families.
And you helped make this possible.
From the very first days after the flood, your donations allowed us to respond to urgent needs — providing food, water, cleaning supplies, household equipment, and other essentials. Later, when emergency aid was no longer enough, your support helped families take the next steps toward rebuilding their homes and everyday lives.
Over time, our work changed.
Emergency distributions became individual support. Large deliveries became smaller responses to specific needs. And slowly, the number of people requiring our assistance began to decrease.
This is exactly what we hoped would happen.
Our goal was never to make people dependent on long-term aid. It was to stand beside them during one of the most difficult moments of their lives and help them reach the point where they could move forward again.
Today, we are very close to that point.
There are still a few final needs we are responding to, and we will remain present for the people who need us. But this chapter of our work is gradually coming to a close.
Looking back, we feel enormous gratitude.
To our volunteers, partners, local communities, and especially to all of you who donated from different parts of the world: thank you.
You helped us arrive when the water had just gone down. You helped us clean, equip, repair, and rebuild. And, most importantly, you showed families in southern Poland that they were not alone. Nearly two years later, we can finally say something we have been waiting a long time to say:
They are rebuilding. They are moving forward. And thankfully, our help is needed less and less.
That is the best possible outcome we could have hoped for.
Thank you for being part of it.
With gratitude,
The Klementyna Foundation Team
