The following note was posted on the 1st October on the Facebook website of Blå Kors Danmark:
When do you open a Child's Blue House in Zealand*?, we are sometimes asked. In 2020 !!!
We can now unveil that we have been allocated money to open a new Child's Blue House, which will be in Slagelse. It is a news that we are reallyexcited to share because we know there is a need for help for children and adolescents from families with alcohol and drug abuse in several parts of the country.
The house will be a free offer for children aged 0-13 who have or have been abused in life. It will be the sixth Child's Blue House in the series - today weare present in Aalborg, Frederikshavn, Aars, Svendborg and Rønne on Bornholm.
We are aiming to open the doors to the Child's Blue House in Slagelse as soon as possible in the new year.
We congratulate the Blue Cross Denmark on this planned step next year and appreciate the work they are doing for the children.
With your donation, the home in Zealand can be built up and the children can enjoy a " well-being oasis ".
There are 2 children in each class in Denmark who come from a home where there is alcohol addiction and abuse. The aim of the Blue Cross's work in Denmark is creating a place where children and young people can meet and discuss with peers and take the necessary help to overcome the pain and the psychological problems that growing in abusive families causes in their life.
* Zealand is a large island that’s part of Denmark. It’s home to the capital, Copenhagen, and the city of Roskilde.
