Fire doesn't feel alone anymore. Like (unfortunately) many other children, he dealt with difficult feelings alone after experiencing alcohol and drug abuse in his family. He and his family got help at Barnets Blå Hu. They received the necessary tools to move on and work with their emotions and trauma.
Barnets Blå Hus is a free treatment and support service with therapy and social activities for children, young people and their families who have special challenges due to alcohol or drug abuse in the family. In Barnets Blå Hus, the children meet young adults who listen and try to understand their situation. Meeting people with similar experiences is also a relief of not being alone with thoughts and problems. Barnet's Blå Hus also offers parents help and support in everyday life.
Fire tells his story: "I have become happier and feel relieved every time I come to Barnets Blå Hus. I was really sad for a year and I thought that I could never be happy again. It makes a difference because they can do a lot more than just listening. I feel understood and heard. It's liberating to be able to talk to someone who doesn't pass it on. You can talk to children who have experienced the same thing, or to a therapist who is caring and understanding.”
Thanks to your donation, children, young people and their families receive support and someone who listens and understands. Thank you for everything you give. Every amount counts!
