Thanks to many volunteers, it was possible to give children and young people a particularly good Christmas holiday during the festive season. Between Christmas and New Year, 32 young people aged between 13 and 20 took part in one of the Blue Cross Christmas camps, which was only possible thanks to the tireless efforts of numerous volunteers!
The Christmas camp is a place of encounter and community. It creates a place where young people can talk openly with others in similar situations, make new friends and gain new perspectives on life. Several participants have reported that they have made friends for life!
Christmas camps are aimed at children and young people who come from families with alcohol and other drug abuse, poverty, mental illness or other social problems. Children whose families are affected by abuse are particularly vulnerable. For four days, they got a break from everyday life and lots of good experiences such as cutting down Christmas trees, winter swimming and fireworks. There were various activities, good company and delicious food!
Thanks to many volunteers, the Christmas camp was unforgettable for many children! Without this meaningful work, this would not have been possible!
Thanks to the support of many and your donation, Blue Cross Denmark can help children who come from families with alcohol or other drug abuse every day. Thank you so much!
