Blue Cross Denmark run family groups that have an aim to support the whole family at their substance abuse situation. If one member of the family has a problem with alcohol the whole family feels the effects. It is important for the person who is recovering to be able to process the feelings of guilt, shame and powerlessness and give the opportunity to the family members express how the substance abuse has hurt them and made them feel neglected and harmed. Blue Cross helps families in several ways. They run weekend courses "Your - and my - and our lives" for disadvantaged parents and children and organizes family trips, excursions and camps for families. All these activities can make a real difference and provide a turning point for happier healthier life for the family.
Especially at this Christmas season our work much needed. Thank you for supporting us and keeping our work possible!
