Help support MMW in our work to give free acupuncture care to people in Nepal who do not have access to medical care. MMW sends qualified acupuncture volunteers to rural areas of Nepal to treat subsistence farmers and their families for ailments such as diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, infertility and arthritis. This includes many women, children, and the elderly with disabilities.
There are currently over 60,000 families living in the Sindupulchowk region of Nepal and only one health clinic available to these families. Patients suffer from ailments such as debilitating arthritis, gastritis, cancer, diabetes, and acute infections.
MMW sends qualified acupuncturists to a clinic in Nepal to treat these farmers and their families. We work in conjunction with an existing village clinic, which MMW helped to re-build after an earthquake 2015. We also work to train current local acupuncture students in their steps toward professional licensure.
Trained acupuncturists will go on to treat thousands of patients in need in Nepal. Our volunteers have already treated many thousands of local farmers and their families, as well as teach them about nutrition and healthy habits which will support their health long into the future.
