At the Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF), we believe that empowering rural youth with technology and skills is key to building a stronger, more innovative Nigeria. The Samony Youth Tech Academy – RYEN Program was created to provide digital skills training, mentorship, and access to modern technology for young people in rural communities who often lack these critical opportunities.

The Rural Youth Empowerment Network (RYEN) aims to bridge the digital divide, equipping participants with practical skills in areas such as coding, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and innovation. By investing in their skills today, we help shape the future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers of tomorrow.

Project Activities During This Period

During this reporting period, we would like to transparently inform our supporters that no donations have yet been received for this project.

While the absence of funding has slowed direct implementation, the project team has remained proactive in preparation and planning:

• Identifying target communities and rural youth who will benefit from the program

• Designing curriculum for digital skills, entrepreneurship, and leadership training

• Developing operational and logistics plans for program roll-out once funding becomes available

• Engaging local partners, community leaders, and schools to support participation and ensure impact

Although we are still awaiting financial support, our commitment to empowering rural youth through technology and innovation remains unwavering.

Challenges

The primary challenge remains limited funding, which has prevented the initiation of direct training sessions and acquisition of essential equipment.

Other challenges include:

• Limited access to reliable internet and technology in rural communities

• Need for trained facilitators and mentors for the program

• Mobilizing youth participation and ensuring equitable access

Despite these challenges, the project team is fully prepared to launch and scale the program as soon as funding is secured.

Looking Ahead: Little by Little Campaign

We are hopeful about upcoming opportunities to secure funding through initiatives like the Little by Little Campaign (March 17 – March 20).

This campaign provides an opportunity for supporters to contribute toward providing technology, training materials, and mentorship programs for rural youth in the RYEN network.

Even small contributions, while matching funds remain, can have a significant impact, helping to equip young people with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to innovate, solve problems, and create sustainable livelihoods.

Next Steps

Once funding is received, the Samony Youth Tech Academy – RYEN Program will:

• Launch training sessions in rural communities, providing hands-on digital and technology skills

• Provide mentorship and guidance to youth participants

• Equip participants with access to computers, software, and learning materials

• Foster entrepreneurship and innovation projects for real-world impact

• Monitor progress and assess outcomes for future program improvement

These steps will ensure that rural youth are not left behind in the digital age and that they gain practical skills to secure better opportunities.

Gratitude to Our Supporters

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all donors, advocates, and partners who continue to support our mission to empower youth and transform communities.

While no donations have yet been received, your interest, encouragement, and awareness-raising are vital to sustaining this initiative.

We also thank GlobalGiving for providing a platform that connects organizations like ours with supporters worldwide, enabling us to maximize impact, transparency, and accountability when funding becomes available.

Call to Action

The rural youth of Nigeria are talented, ambitious, and ready to contribute to the nation’s growth—but they need access to technology, skills, and mentorship.

By supporting the Samony Youth Tech Academy – RYEN Program, you can help:

• Provide digital literacy and technology skills training

• Foster entrepreneurship and innovation

• Empower youth to create sustainable livelihoods

• Build a generation of leaders equipped for the digital age

Even small donations can transform lives and communities, ensuring that no rural youth is left behind.

Closing Reflection

The young people we hope to serve are not just beneficiaries—they are Nigeria’s next generation of innovators, leaders, and problem-solvers.

With your support, we can ensure that rural youth have access to technology, mentorship, and training, giving them the tools to achieve their dreams.

Together, we can bridge the digital divide and empower a generation that will shape the future of Nigeria.

With gratitude and hope,

Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF)

Empowering communities. Transforming lives.
