Around 50 students and teachers, from Hartman High School and Sts. Tarkmanchatz Armenian Christian High School, gathered on a Sunday morning in the Hartman's prayer and study hall. They all came voluntarily, in a day free of studies.
They were greeted by Shaul the principal who introduced the school briefly. A religious school that is liberal and open, with some 360 students study there for six years. He expressed his joy for the fact we were able to realize the encounter despite all the logistical difficulties and wished all participants a lot of success.
Dorit, the social coordinator, introduced the participating teachers and led an introduction exercise of meeting clock. Every student was asked to set up a meeting for every hour of the clock, with someone from the other school. Then the students held the meeting, in pairs or small groups, with each meeting starting with a guiding question.
Then the Hartman students guided the Armenian students, in small groups, in a tour through their school. After the tour they had a joint pizza meal.
Following the meal, the students turned for joint basketball and soccer games. After some two and a half hours of connecting with each other in great atmosphere, the two groups fare welled with wishes for a near next encounter.
