Student Performances and Awards

By I Wayan Suteja | EBPP Pengalusan Principle

From April - June 2025, students joined various academic, cultural, and community activities. From building a library to celebrating National Education Day and joining a cultural trip.

Library construction involvement

Students actively participated in building their new school library, . Their involvement gave them a sense of pride and ownership toward a future learning space that will support reading and literacy.

Students’ council election and empower activities

In early April, the Student Council election took place with support from the Empower program. Four students were elected as coordinators for school affairs, student affairs, and sports. Empower also conducted a sexual health awareness session and a parent-child activity involving traditional Janur decoration making.

Grade 12 and 9Final exams and Graduation

Seven Pengalusan Senior high 12th-grade students completed their final exams between 29-30 April with the official graduation announcement on May 5th. Meanwhile, one Jatituhu junior high student finished her exams from 8 May, and on 2 June successfully graduated - congratulations!

Celebrating National Education Day, ‘Hardiknas’, on 2 May

Pengalusan students performed a song, “Education is Our Right,” while Jatituhu students sang “Education for All.” Pengalusan students also won several awards, including 3rd place in Dharma Gita, painting, and speed reading, 2nd place in both junior and senior high quiz competitions, and 3rd place in the bamboo chair and balancing dragonflies making contest.

Computer classes resume

Basic computer lessons re-started on 14 May, giving students their first experience with digital tools. The program helps them build basic digital skills for the future.

Second semester exam and report card distribution

From June 9–13, all students took their second semester exams for the 2024–2025 school year. Report cards were distributed on June 20, and all students officially advanced to the next level. On the same day, we held a parents' meeting to discuss student progress and activities carried out during the semester.

Religious and Spiritual trip to Bali’s 8 most Sacred Temples

On June 27–28, 2025, the students took part in a two days religious trip to eight temples across Bali. The trip gave students a meaningful break and a chance to explore Bali and connect with their cultural roots.

We sincerely thank all donors and partners for their continued support. Your contributions enable students in rural communities to learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
