By I Wayan Suteja | EBPP Pengalusan Headmaster
From July to October 2025, EBPP Pengalusan and Jatituhu schools continued strengthening students’ academic progress, confidence, and creativity through diverse learning, cultural, and skills-building programs.
Cross-Cultural Learning with Mount Barker Community College
A key highlight was the two-day cultural exchange with Mount Barker Community College (Australia) on 29–30 July. Students collaborated through creative workshops, first aid training, sports, and Balinese cultural activities including dance and bamboo crafts. Shared storytelling—especially EBPP students' experiences overcoming natural disasters and the pandemic—built empathy, mutual understanding, and lasting friendships.
Collaboration with Stella’s Child Foundation
On 19 September, Stella’s Child Foundation hosted a full day of learning and motivation. High school students practiced writing effective CVs, while junior high students shared their aspirations and received encouragement. Outdoor games and gifts ended the day with joy and renewed motivation.
English Learning Through Films
Volunteer teacher Cory White from the USA enriched English classes using subtitled films, strengthening students’ listening, speaking, and vocabulary skills through fun, interactive lessons.
Celebrating Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day
On 17 August, students celebrated Independence Day with competitions and stage performances. Pengalusan students presented the Puspanjali dance, two songs, and the comedy play Kesempatan Kedua. They also won several competitions—including Bola Gila and Enggrang—while Jatituhu won the Cracker Eating contest. These activities boosted teamwork, cultural pride, and confidence.
Mid-Semester Assessments
Between 29 September and 5 October, students completed mid-semester tests. Most met their targets, and others received extra support to strengthen their understanding.
Bamboo Craft Program
Students advanced rapidly in the Bamboo Skills Program, creating dragonflies, clocks, chairs, and later, the Cungklik bamboo gamelan instrument. Their home-based weaving experience helped them master new techniques with confidence.
Art Program
Students created motivational posters and illustrated stories, developing creativity, storytelling abilities, and character through positive messages.
Computer Skills Program
Computer classes resumed with hands-on practice in Microsoft Word and Excel, improving typing, formatting, and digital literacy.
Leadership & Empowerment
In September, lessons focused on adolescent health, hygiene, emotional well-being, and self-esteem—supporting students’ personal growth and informed decision-making.
