Working mental health / Trabajando la salud mental

CODAMO en tu escuela
CODAMO en tu escuela

Casa sin Fronteras continues to offer mental health services to the community, both face-to-face and virtually.  Counseling and psychological services are offered weekly by appointment to men, women, children and youth.

We started the Women's Meeting, one in July and one in October.  We took a day to share with an excellent group of women of different ages, experiences of self-knowledge, relaxation and integration, through body movement, art and music.  Creative Therapies help us enter the unconscious and allow us to be happier and more focused.  We will notify the date of the next Women's Meeting in our social media.

To reach those people who cannot physically reach our Center, we held a virtual cycle of Estima Workshops for women.  There were three workshops between the months of August and September to gain more self-knowledge, improve communication and manage stress and anxiety effectively.

Knowing the needs of mothers and caregivers, we have a series of virtual workshops focused on helping them manage their particular situations, using Dance Movement Therapy strategies.  There are eight one hour meetings, weekly, in which we share tools and self-care strategies.

We are bringing the Dance Movement Therapy, and Music Therapy workshops to schools.  At Garrochales' school, Arecibo, Adriana Lizardi, our music therapist shared with two groups of eighth-grade students.  At Vega Baja elementary school, Hecbel Rodríguez used different Dance Movement Therapy activities with students in two fifth-grade groups.  Both were enriching experiences. Our Professional Counselor, Lariana Garcia held a self-care workshop for teachers at a school in Arecibo.  If you would like to bring our services to your school, whether for students or for teachers, and staff, please contact us to coordinate the event.

This semester we return with a cycle of Music Therapy Workshops for children from 6 to 9 years old.  Our Music Therapist Adriana Lizardi, uses music and instruments to work different techniques that help children improve their behavior, have more concentration and express their emotions and feelings.  Registration is still open.

Follow us on social networks so that you know of our projects, and you can participate.  We thank everyone who contributes financially so that we can continue to serve the community.
