We aim to empower young people through social lessons and career training which are much enhanced for young adults to apply to their daily lives. Please read more below about how Life Skills students benefit from their start up social education and career opportunity lessons for the last quarter containing positive impacts.

Graduation Celebration Party

In the last three months, we offered 23 certificates to 3rd generation of Life skills students who graduated successfully from their program. Congratulation for their success.

Social Lessons:

In this quarter, our young adults have a great time, gain knowledge and experience from lessons and workshop in the training course. Those include a family planning session, the students realized about importance of organizing or setting a plan for their future’s husband and wife whether when they appropriately choose to get married. Furthermore, they also catch up about having a baby for their family whenever they are fully able to feed their babies and provide happiness for their families. Also the students are offered the domestic violence lesson, they are aware of cause and effect of having domestic violence such as poverty, uneducated people, jealousy, no tolerance in the family and do not provide fully rights for their partners for their living. Thus, they consider and reflect these issues to their society where they are living.

Other 3 sessions with bullying lesson, saving money, and family and environment lesson, the students realize about closely relationship with their classmates and are not harmful to the others because it causes to their friend/classmate’s study or feeling. They also got a new way or technique to keep their money not only safe but also get interest and benefit from it by creating new account at the bank or use their money to raise any animals to sell for their own study. Furthermore, they understand about interrelationship between family and environment. They know that people who live by them are vital to them and their families because if their surrounded people are illiterate, gambling and use the drug, certainly, it will affect to their siblings or relatives of their families. Thus, they think that both family and environment are very important for them.

Traffic Workshop

Not only life skills students but also English students are very interested in this workshop because this new traffic law for 2016 is very strict and traffic policy will fine to whom do not obey the new traffic law as well as articles. Therefore, both of them raised up a lot of questions related to traffic article in order to avoid from fining and traffic accident. They are aware of traffic signs, realize about general accident caused by traffic and number of death and injuries.

“My name is Chantha. I am 19 years old and I am a student of Salariin Kampuchea organization. Bellow, I am writing about my feeling that I joined workshop that talking about traffic law of Cambodia. So I can say that the traffic law it is very important that the people need to know and follow the rule for all because every day you travel on the road in order to avoid accident, reduce accident and especially it is protecting your life so we have to realize it.

This workshop is interesting because when I join I have gained my knowledge such as how to use the road properly, how to avoid from accident and especially I have known a lot about road signs, law of fines and punishment. I also realize about accident and injured figure data happening in Cambodia.

For me, when I follow the signs and traffic law, I am protecting myself and my life. This is the first workshop for me that I have never attended before. Thanks for the school that arranged it for us”.

In the coming three months, we are planning to visit a hotel, conduct drug lesson, how job announcement, writing CV and Cover letter read. We will also provide social media lessons, internet and email, PowerPoint presentation, how to be the best employee and hotel department, rehearsal interview, cooking class, visit Siem Reap vocational training, final trip for life skills project and coach and mentor life skills students before graduated.
