Successful Graduation

In late February 2016, our 4th generation students of life skill finished their training course. As the result, 27 students graduated successfully from the program.

One student, Reaksmey shared his feelings about the benefits from the life skill program after he graduated successfully.

“My name is Reaksmey. I am 20 years old. I’m a student that study English and life skill too in Salariin Kampuchea. For studying life skill I never know about it before. I always think that “what is life skill?” So when study it I know a lot of experiences and two main points that important for me like social education and career training. One thing I know how to become a good student or a good person in the life. And then I know how to do working in group. I can say that learning life skill is important for our lives and it has a lot of actions and chances like visiting hotels, vocational training schools and other places. I have more opportunity about employment and work experience, too.

Finally, I feel that I gain a lot from the life skill program if I compare to the past that I did not join the program. I would recommend to next generation in Salariin Kampuchea should learn it all together because it important for themselves. Why? Because it helps us to know about ourselves and future employment”.

Cooking Class

In February, our 4th generation students of life skill program attended in practical cooking class. Our former student, Sal shared her skill and experience to school mates and next generation. The students are able to cook Amok “Khmer Food”. They felt excited with their first achievement of cooking food by them. Students were eager to learn in order to cook for their family and friends.

Another student, Bunthoeun shared his feelings about the benefits cooking class.

“I think cooking class is good because it brings us to know our former student, good relationship and we can gain cooking skill that we never know before. I am very happy that I can cook Amok. I will make it for my parents and relatives. Thanks to older student, Sal for her skill and sharing to us. Esp thanks to teachers and Salariin Kampuchea who arranged it for us”

In the coming three months, we are planning to start new life skill classes for 5th generation. We will bring them to visit a hotel to see the reality of work and how hotel industry operating. We will conduct communication, presentation, and self-esteem sessions as well as food and drink.
