Life Skill Students Present in Parent Meeting

Our goals are to empower young people to changing job market and engage a community to give the value of education and support their children’s learning. Through life skill lessons and career training for young adults, the students are able to foster communication between their parents and our school. To see more impacts from the program, please go further for more information about young adults benefit from their social education and career opportunity as well as how the community engages with our school from the last three months.

 Parent Meeting

In late July 2016, all parents were invited to the community and parent meeting at Salariin Kampuchea to improve relationship and share our policies, regulations and programs to students’ parents and community. During the meeting with parents and community, 4th generation of our life skill students spread the words about Salariin Kampuchea’s policies and programs to their parents through their presentation.

One of students, Reaksmey expressed his feelings about his presentation in the parent meeting.

“Hello everyone, my name is Reaksmey. I am 20 years old and am a student in life skill program. It is such a great honor for me to present about Salariin Kampuchea’s programs and its policies to all parents here. Firstly, I feel a bit shy and nervous but when I think of my skill and experience I have learnt from the life skill program, it makes me very confident and enthuciastic to stand in front of a large group of people who are watching and listening to my presentation. Because of my ambition and encouragement from Salariin Kampuchea and my team, my presentation went very well with introduction, main speech and inclusion. At the end it remained interesting questions from the parents and audiences especially about Salariin Kampuchea’s programs such computer, and English curriculums and timetable...etc. I, myself learnt a lot from my presentation in the parent meeting such as self-esteem, self-confident, the way talking to people, communication, self-preparation, slide organization and team work because I have to work with my teammates to come up with the presentation. Thanks to Salariin Kampuchea teachers that give me the great experience and opportunity”.

Parent Expression

After our student’s presentation in the parent meeting, the parents felt very interested and had impression about their children’s learning at Salariin Kampuchea. Firstly they admired their sons/daughter’s presentation, brave, confidence and enthusiasm. Secondly, they realize and believe Salariin Kampuchea’s education that can offer their children with good skill, knowledge and experience. Finally, they are very happy with our programs and activities. They are happy to share and contribute needs of the school what we need. They also promised to support children’s learning and encourage them to study hard. They all want to see their children have a good future and reach their potentials.

One parent expressed her feeling about Salariin Kampuchea’s program and life skill students.

“My name is Kea, I live in Veal village. When I saw my son presentation, I am very happy and satisfied that he can present in front of people. He can use technology for slide presentation. Improvement that my son has today because he attended in life skill program at Salariin Kampuchea, so I think the life skill program here is useful for young adults to prepare themselves for youth stage and he seems understanding and aware of what he is doing. He improves a lot about personality and knowledge. Thanks Salariin Kampuchea and teachers that run this program for young adults”.
