Our goals are to empower young people to see and explore job opportunity and career advice from their life skill program. Through life skill lessons and career training for young adults, the students are able to realize and understand better about future career opportunity from the visiting companies and hotels which poster to see the reality and attractive working environment. To see more impacts from the visit program, please go further for more information about young adults benefit from their visit and the program at our school from the last three months.
In January 24, 2017, all our life skill students in 5th generation visited a hotel called Sokha Angkor Resort (http://www.sokhahotels.com/angkor/). There were 25 students and 6 staff participated in this visit. It is a great opportunity for our students to learn and see different things in the hotel comparing to another. The visit was a big success, as students have gained insight, knowledge and first-hand experience of hotel industry – one of the biggest employers in the area.
A student, Sokhim, 16 years old shared her feelings about the visit: “When I join the visit, I feel fabulous because I never see something like that before. In Sokha Angkor hotel, there are many modern things, equipment, tools and facilities. I see good views inside the hotels, swimming pool, Royal/president and other luxury rooms with description from hotel staff. It is unbelievable to me that I never know about how expensive of president room is per night over 2,000$! I also gain some knowledge about departments, jobs and responsibilities for the career advisory and explanation from the Mr. Chhen Kong, human resource in charge of training in the hotel. It is very special to me and I think this program can bring more benefits for me and my classmates. I am very happy and I really enjoy the visit very much. I hope I can visit the hotel again next year.”
