Rescue Junction Supports Street Children in India

Namaste Everyone,

Greetings from the Junction. 

One of our aims is to increase awareness within the local community about the plight of these girls and help us establish a network of protection for them. We work with the police and raid local brothels and we have found girls as young as twelve years of age. In these cases in conjunction with local authorities we always prosecute and bring those responsible for this abuse to Justice . Over 40 people are behind bars today as a result of these prosecutions. We need to establish there will be no safe haven, no escape from those who choose to abuse children.

We are determined to do what we can with your help to stop this abuse of innocence, wherever and whenever we find it.  For this we need your support, and as always I send my heartfelt appreciation to you all.

Here at the Junction we have a very small dedicated team working with the police and railway authorities in finding child labour agents, adults who have been reported  as abusing children, and those who would employ them, and bring them to justice .

Whilst the Justice system is slow here in India we work with the courts and the judicary locally to bring speedy Justice and to take these offenders off the streets and behind bars. 

Through our detailed accounts we can now tell our supporters that each succesfull prosecution costs an average of 500 US dollars to implement .

These proceedings are done in a child sensitive matter with the survivors making key decisions in the process.

Compliments of the season to you all from Rescue Junction! 

Rescue Junction has taken initiative to provide education for children who is imminent risk of trafficking and child labour as well as child marriage from children who is living in the slum and Centre organize a special meeting with the parents and community from slum and during meeting parents of children were sensitized regarding  provision and preventive measure of juvenile justice and community engagement with the centre, and they are now sending the children at Rescue Junction where they receive education so they can know about the provision of scheme for government and our team supporting them to make proper documents for the children with community engagement and approaching district child protection unit with their proper documents and in these documents our team supporting them to prepare Adhar card, birth certificate and enrolment in proper school and many of children are now going to the  school from slum.

Now that the cold winter weather will soon be upon us, we are asking supporters if you can help us provide warm clothing and blankets including for babies and young children. A blanket costs $8 /6.30 GBP and a warm sweater $7/5.51. If you mark your donation for warm clothing it will used only for that purpose.
