Warm festive greetings of the season to you and I hope you find this year end update interesting.

Another year has gone by and the situation economically is poor, and  a war in Europe, and the aftermath of Covid  are being felt by so many.

India has not escaped the world situation at all of course and prices of everyday essentials have increased so much but not wages. Our Covid programme continues to help vulnerable families find work and support.

I thought you would like to hear a summary of the year.

At the Junction although our work has been affected by the new construction for our brand-new children’s centre, we have rescued over 750 children to date this year. The youngest was a new-born baby and others included boys and girls running away from abuse, child labourers rescued (with arrests following for the traffickers), lost children and girls being taken for the sex trade. Every single child has been placed in a safe situation with care and protection in mind through our outreach programme and our 24-hour staff and centre where the doors never close to children in urgent need and distress. That we have been able to provide this vitally important service is due your compassion and generosity and our children thank you so much for your kindness. I will leave you with a story from Rescue Junction. We are a secular organisation and celebrate all festivals. We have just been able to show the film “Oliver” in Hindi which the children really enjoyed. During the song. “Where is love” one girl was heard to say to her fiiend sitting next to her..... "where is love? ....you’ll find it here"…

This update is in appreciation of all of you and your compassion and kindness. Every single donation no matter how small is so important in helping all of the children and young people we serve.

Here is a recent case here at Rescue Junction…

 A phone caller informed us that three children were being child trafficked and will be taken to Delhi by catching Mahabodhi train from Gaya Junction. We informed the Railway Police and Station Superintendent. After which a team was formed by RPF Gaya. During the search of the station, the team saw children and possible child traffickers near the ticket counter. After that the children were questioned. The children said that we do not know this person we are with. On being asked by the special team the men with them admitted to Rescue Junction staff that they were involved in child trafficking. After which the children were freed from child trafficking and handed over to Rescue Junction and legal action was taken against the child traffickers.  After admission to Rescue Junction and counselling the children and families were offered support and assistance ,and the children took part on our child rehabilitation programme and are now  back at home under our supervision, and are  in full time education.

The children were 10,11 and 12 years of age.
