Summary

Help our teachers to keep providing high quality integrated education to 70 girls and boys in EBPP's remote Jatituhu & Pengalusan schools situated high up Mount Abang and Mount Agung slopes respectively. Their parents are illiterate and these children are their only hope of a better future, to escape poverty and aspire to a future of sustainable social and economic development and prosperity. The teachers are the most important element on the education. Without them, the students cannot learn.

Challenge

Lack of teachers and no nearby government's schools are classic problems in remote villages like ours. In our hamlets, the nearest primary school being a 3-4km walk on steep tracks with average 1-2 hours hour walk, and the nearest gov't secondary school is 12km away with no public transport. Many teachers do not want to teach in remote village. These children & communities rely on our teachers to provide their children's education to lift their communities out of poverty

Solution

Support our dedicated teachers so they can continue deliver the primary and secondary education in these remote hamlets to give these motivated children the tools to learn, not only the national curriculum but also integrated life skills they need to empower them for a better future, through a wide range of extra curricula classes in WASH and the arts. Most important are our high school youth empowerment courses, preparing them to be entrepreneurs and compete in the competitive job markets

Long-Term Impact

The teachers can continue to provide the comprehensive, relevant and integrated education needed in these difficult circumstances, with your support, these children of today, armed with knowledge and skills not provided in government schools, can become agents of change and tomorrow's leaders, both inside and outside of their village. They will be role models and inspire present and future generations of youth to choose education to ensure poverty is a thing of the past.
