Advancing Skills Through Collaboration & Training

EBPP teachers are dedicated to continuous improvement, always striving to provide the best education for their students. To further these goals, at the beginning of 2025, we established a Collaborative learning community where EBPP teachers and local tutors collaborate to share teaching strategies, discuss challenges, and find solutions together. Through regular monthly meetings, we review our teaching methods and plan improvements to make learning more effective and meaningful for our students.

To cement these goals we outline below the many capacity building programs, delivered by expert professional trainers.

Our senior Balinese language teachers Suteja, attended a five-day Balinese script writing training led by a language instructor in Ban Village. This training deepened his understanding of Balinese script and improved his writing skills.

On 3 & 11 March, all teachers took part in an ice-breaking training session to develop engaging teaching methods and foster a more interactive classroom environment, led by guest lecturer Prof. Ayu from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. By learning different ice-breaking techniques, we can make lessons more enjoyable, help students stay focused, and ease any classroom tension. This training also strengthened our ability to build better connections with students and encourage active participation. The ice-breaking training also introduced us to creative teaching approaches that make learning more dynamic.

On 13 and 19 March, we learnt how to design creative and fancy book modules as our teaching references based on the syllabus that we had created, specifically designed to align with the EBPP curriculum and syllabus. These modules provide structured guidance for more effective teaching. We also explored digital design tools like Canva to create engaging and professional learning materials.

From 12-15 March, Sudarma, EBPP youth empowerment instructor, was invited to be a keynote speaker at the EMpower Foundation anniversary dinner and fundraising event in Hong Kong. He also participated in an exchange program with the Teach Unlimited Foundation, which, like EBPP, is dedicated to empowering youth through education. This was an unforgettable experience, not only as a keynote speaker but also as an opportunity to go abroad, exchange knowledge, and expand global connections.

Through these initiatives, we have strengthened our teaching skills, embraced more innovative methods, and enhanced the overall learning experience for our students.
