Dear friends,
We want to tell you that the last month we went to visit the flood victims in Salto (A small town located in Buenos Aires) and approached them aid.
We did a survey and 15 families are the ones that are severely affected in which 50 are children and 20 people over 60 years. There are 6 homes in need of structure and all are in need of hygiene and cleanliness materials.
We have seen that after the flood they have many health needs, especially in the fight against mosquitoes and the spread of diseases such as zika, dengue and chicungunya.
We have taken remedies, cleaning and personal hygiene items.
Nowadays, the water is no longer at their home but it left desolation and needs to face everyday life.
This month we will approach home appliances, drinking water, and school supplies as they start classes and children have lost everything to the floods. We will take books, overalls, pencils, backpacks, among others.
We share the photos we took that day and soon we will tell you the developments.
Once again, thank you all for your support!

On the other hand, the statement highlighted "the lack of checks and surveys of private residential developments which have located in areas surrounding the River (in all matches of the basin) in recent years". In this regard, it is recalled that "the different environmental organizations in the basin have again denounced irregularities and has warned about the need to study the environmental impact of the countries and gated communities that are built in the lower of the Luján River". According to SOS Luján River "on many occasions, these residential developments have no qualms and alter the course of the river and its wetlands (creation of navigable Lakes, movements of Earth to reach levels that are suitable for the construction of housing to never be flooded, etc.) generating a"cap"that prevents the rapid drainage of areas flooded in the middle (in Parties of Mercedes" (, Luján y Pilar) of the route of the river ".
