As we embark on this new year, Fundación JUCONI has returned with renewed energy and a steadfast commitment to our mission. Following the Christmas holiday break, we have successfully resumed our in-home interventions. The return to face-to-face support has been met with immense gratitude from both our technical team and the families we serve, reaffirming the importance of presence and consistent accompaniment in their
A primary focus of our recent work has been the strengthening of family bonds. While there has been a noticeable decrease in active violence within the sector, a latent fear remains among many of our beneficiaries. Our interventions are currently tailored to address this emotional aftershock, providing parents and children with the psychological tools to rebuild trust and security within their own homes, ensuring that the family remains a safe haven despite external pressures.
With the school holiday season currently underway in Ecuador, we have launched our "Vacacional" (Summer Camp). This program serves as a vital space for our children and adolescents to channel their energy into productive and joyful activities. The curriculum is designed to be holistic, offering:
Physical and Creative Expression: Football, dance, and various art forms.
Soft Skills Development: Workshops focused on self-esteem, confidence, and leadership, helping participants recognize their potential beyond their immediate circumstances.
In honor of International Women’s Day, we organized a specialized day of reflection involving mothers, girls, and local community leaders. The objective was to move beyond the date itself and dive into its history, empowering these women to recognize their multifaceted roles. We celebrated their value not only as caregivers but as entrepreneurs, leaders, and pillars of society. By fostering this awareness, we are helping the next generation of girls see themselves as protagonists of change.
Despite the complex landscape of our region, the start of this year has proven that the desire for transformation is stronger than fear. We remain deeply grateful for the continued support of our partners, which allows us to keep our doors open and our teams in the field, building a future where every child can thrive in a home defined by peace rather than violence.
