Dear friends and supporters,
let me get back to you with some exciting news from Malawi! I've just gotten back from the country after the usual monitoring trip to see the projects, meet our colleagues on the field and the children we're assisting in Mangochi District.
I've had the chance to spend some days with the volunteers of Tiyende Pamodzi Group, the amazing men and women who spontaneously dedicate their free time to the children suffering from disability in the community around Namwera, where thousands of people live in isolated rural villages in conditions of extreme poverty.
Malawi nowadays is suffering one the worst food crisis of the last 20 years; after Cyclone Freddy in March '23, there's shortage of almost every product, and the prices have gone up tremendously causing a true emergency in the villages.
The kids followed in our rehabilitation programme need help in terms of supplementary food and assistance, some of them are severely malnourished and risking their life. We have organised an emergency plan and have been distributing food kits containing powder milk, flour and oil to the extremely needy families, but there's need to do more!
Help us assist 500 children in 12 villages who are already suffering from severe disabilities!
TOGETHER WE CAN!
Thank you so much,
Tania
