Garden Program Success Five Years Later

By Frankline | Partner in Africa

Good day to our friends at the American Foundation for Children with AIDS.  I hope you are doing amazingly well. You are always in our prayers for all you do in our Continent for the families and kids affected/infected by HIV/Aids. We are currently facing flooding like we've never experienced before.  The effect of the flood is great and worsening as is continues to rain.  Properties are being destroyed, we are losing lives and the kids can not go to school.  We thank God that we have not been affected badly by the rains at this point, please continue praying for us and all of Kenya.

On the other hand, our great partnership with the American Foundation for Children with AIDS in this part of Kenya has positively impacted many lives that would have otherwise got lost.  We are proud to continue doing what we do best for the benefit of the families and children we are saving. Our sustainable food project through the garden is five years old and as sustainable as it is, we are proud to create decent jobs for the women and produce sustainable organic food for the kids and the community for consumption.

The impact of this project is amazing and it's the acceleration that pushes us to do what we do, as the kids are looking healthier and brighter, the greens in our gardens are organically grown and are being loved by the community for consumption and the women working in our garden are doing their decent work well knowing they will return home with a good livable wage to keep them afloat with their families thus positively impacting to the economy.

We could not have reached this far without AFCA starting with us from the first year of this project to date.  We are so grateful for help as we do this great work.

Everyone here at the American Foundation for Children with AIDS, and our partners in Africa, thank you for your continued support of this important project.  If you would like to learn even more about this project and others, please contact Tanya Weaver at tweaver@AFCAids.org.
