Richard and Audrey are Loving School

Let me introduce you to Richard and Audrey, a set of siblings in our program. Their father, Joseph, has been down for some time and is receiving treatments through our partnership. His days are long and he feels sad that he is not able to meet the day to day needs of his children. Joseph stuggles to find his own strength to meet the requirements of his treatments. It's a difficult life when you are alone and caring for your children, but Joseph and his family feel your love.

Thanks to your donations to support our sustainable food project and the community garden, our partner is able to fund their crucial medical work and help families just like this one. Richard and Audrey are thriving in spite of Joseph's struggles and they understand your financial supports makes it all possible. Both siblings are doing well as they feel good and they love school.

Please know that your generosity is truly making a difference in the lives of these two children and many more in our program. With our partners on the ground, the children and their families receive the support and monitoring they need to make this a very successful project. We are changing lives day after day. Farm Project Moving Forward to Help Children

What an amazing year it has been for AFCA's children, thanks to YOU! Because of YOU, thousands of children are thriving and hopeful. Because of YOU, hundreds of children had good food to eat this year. Because of YOU, hundreds of children have livestock and seeds with which to start small businesses. We don't have enough words to thank you for what you've done because it is huge...it is life changing.

Today I want to give you some background on the farm project. The purpose of the farm project is to produce income to help our partner fund their crucial medical work in some of the neediest communities of Mombasa. In addition, some vegetables are to be given to the poorest of the poor children in their programs who have been infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. And some vegetables are to be sold at a discount to mothers of the infected or affected children to help them establish small businesses. The farm measures about 50 Acres and has the potential to help so many people in the coastal region.

It is a constant job to make sure that the farm works to its potential and produces to meet the needs of children. A consultant was hired for two weeks in October to produce a farm operational analysis report. Plans have been made to move forward and implement his suggestions. We are so blessed with his knowledge of farming in the area!

As this year comes to a close, we want to thank you for the donations you've made to support our work. If you are making your end of the year giving decisions, please keep us in mind so we can continue helping children in 2016 and beyond. Please share what we do with others, so they, too, can help our children. Together, we CAN make a difference.
