The Community English Center of Fort-Dauphin, Madagascar, seeks to expand their innovative education program providing language and life skills to 200 out-of-school youth in one of the poorest regions of the world - where >80% of youth don't attend secondary school and 84% live in poverty. Equipment will expand the range and versatility of classes the Center provides. New teachers will allow more children to attend the Center, building life-skills and job prospects beyond arduous manual labour.
Youth in Madagascar must pay large tuition fees for learning, and due to that many students are unable to learn until the end. This contributes to the cyclical poverty in our community in Fort dauphin here. Computer, English language, and life skills competency is an prerequisite, and it became the road block of the needy youth. Most youth they tend to do thing unproductive due to not knowing life skills and it has a negative impact in their daily life and attitude in their communities.
Providing students with daily courses, school supplies, and a safe place to practice their skills will not only provide our students with a valuable and marketable skill but will grant opportunities to be able to achieve their goals. As we have many cruise liner here in Fort dauphin and some of them that have been taught they work. Students will receive notebooks, dictionaries, and have daily, rigorous training and being next to them, to gain and share their knowledge with their community.
Our project will educate 200 youth in English and computer class and life skills training and providing them with the resources needed to match the workforce needs in their community. We will create the chances for students to rise out of poverty while giving back to their families and neighbors through those vital skills.
