We would like to express our gratitude for the support we continue to receive from all of you.
Moving forward
Looking back at the past year fills us with gratitude and it encourages our team to keep moving forward. Your support through GlobalGiving is also a big help in this. Because it means we’re able to continue to train more teachers and to enable them in their context. We are grateful for all the places where Indonesian children are beginning to read and develop a love for reading. And as you can imagine, we can't wait to spread that love to even more places!
Building the bridge to Sabu?
One of our dreams and plans for this year is to begin a program in Sabu, a region in NTT, close to where we are already working. This area faces big challenges in education, and we would like to support with our program.
We aim to improving literacy in the early grades, with special attention to Grade 1 of primary school. The intervention would start with 10 Grade 1 teachers, in order to enhance reading skills for more then 220 children. We're grateful for some specific donations we've already received, but we haven't reached our starting goal yet. Once again, we are so grateful for your support of the Saya Suka Membaca programs. It is encouraging to collaborate with so many who share our vision for a transformation through literature. Together, we strive for a brighter future for Indonesia.
