Just even before the dust could settle, the Arsenal Football club FA Cup winning fever was brought to the community of Harambee in Nairobi but this time round in a different ball game all together. On 18th May a day after the finals played at Wimbley in England, a total of 45 young lads completed Double club program and were awarded with certificates signed by Arsenal Football club manager Arsene Wenger.Double club program uses football as a conduit to instill football coaching, literacy and education. ”Now I know football can be used to address a lot of things, having participated in various programs conducted by VAP addressing various topics using the same name of football, this really empowers me. Through Double club I have improved my football skills as well as my spellings, reading and writings. Football skills, I will use them on the field. Writing, spellings and reading, I will use them in my school and especially when it comes to speaking and writing English compositions and essays.” Said 14 year old Jack, from Harambee academy.
