Women in the labor market: a commitment to equity

By Luza Marinho | Resources Mobilization Coordinator

In the search for gender equality in the labor market, it’s crucial to highlight the importance of valuing and supporting women, especially those in vulnerable situations. These women face additional obstacles due to a variety of factors, such as intersectionality, discrimination, lack of access to education and limited opportunities.

Valuing them means offering support, mentoring, training programs, projects and inclusive policies to promote their professional and economic development.

Furthermore, by recognizing and valuing the potential of women in vulnerable situations, we are investing not only in their individual careers, but also in building a fairer and more inclusive society. It's a smart strategy to drive sustainable economic growth.

Our computer labs serve audiences who are in various vulnerable situations, including homeless women. Like Jordania*, who participated in the POT Mothers program and left us her testimony.

“I want to thank POT Mothers, because through it I got a job at an events company. I asked Rede Cidadã’s team to remove me from the program to give other mothers the same opportunity I had. This is a very important program for mothers who need to take care of their children and have an income. Now I’m in a company, I’m formally employed and I’m very grateful for that.”

Rede Cidadã builds solutions with partner organizations to meet this demand and we invite you, reader, to build a solution with us!
