Summary

Thousands of teenage girls living on Nigeria's streets are at high risk of HIV due to lack of information, shelter, and access to care. This project will test 2,000 girls for HIV, provide immediate treatment for positive cases, and offer health support and referrals. Many have no family support or health history. Without care, they may live undiagnosed and untreated. Your donation will help us reach and assist them now before it's too late.

Challenge

Teenage girls living on the streets face daily risks of abuse, unprotected sex, and lack of access to health services. Many have never been tested for HIV and are unaware of their status. Without treatment, HIV progresses quickly and puts others at risk. They also face stigma, poor hygiene, and poor nutrition, which can worsen their condition.

Solution

We will reach girls on the street with mobile teams who will provide testing, counseling, and starter treatment where needed. Positive cases will be referred to health centers for long-term care. Our team includes trained health workers and volunteers who speak local languages and can safely approach hard-to-reach areas. Health talks and referrals will be part of every visit.

Long-Term Impact

Early testing helps reduce the spread of HIV and allows girls to begin treatment. As more girls know their status and get care, it may lead to safer choices and better health. Some may choose to leave the streets and seek support. The project can also build local awareness and reduce myths around HIV testing.
