No Help Yet for Girls Living with HIV Risk

By Joy O. Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are writing to share a difficult situation facing our project to help teenage girls living on the streets. We have not yet received the support needed to begin testing for HIV and providing treatment.

This delay comes at a great cost to these young women. Each day without testing means more girls are living without knowing their HIV status. They face constant health risks while surviving on the streets, with no access to basic medical care. Many have never spoken to a health worker or received any kind of health education.

Our teams are ready to help. We have trained staff who can provide testing, counseling, and treatment to 2,000 girls in need. We have identified the communities where we can make the biggest difference. What we lack are the resources to begin this work.

The situation grows more urgent with each passing week. Without testing, girls who are HIV positive cannot receive treatment. Without treatment, their health will continue to decline, and they may unknowingly spread the virus to others.

We are asking for your help to change this reality. Your support can provide a girl with a simple test that could save her life. It can connect her to treatment and give her hope for a healthier future.

Please consider making a donation today. These vulnerable girls cannot wait any longer for the care they desperately need.

With sincere hope,
Joy O. Etubi
