Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting the Big Walk: World Cancer Day Awareness February 4th, 2027 project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and commitment to improving cancer awareness across Nigeria.
Many people continue to lose their lives to cancer because symptoms are not recognized early and medical care is sought too late. Lack of awareness, fear, misinformation, and limited access to health education contribute to delayed diagnosis. As a result, many patients arrive at health facilities when treatment options are more difficult, costly, and less effective.
We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the funds currently available are not sufficient to begin preparations for the event. Additional support is needed before awareness materials, screening stations, event logistics, volunteer coordination, public education resources, and outreach activities can be arranged.
This project aims to organize a large public cancer awareness walk in Abuja on World Cancer Day 2027. Participants will receive educational materials on common cancer warning signs, prevention measures, and available screening services. The event will also include free health checks, community engagement activities, and educational talks delivered in languages that are easily understood by diverse audiences.
Public awareness remains one of the strongest tools in the fight against cancer. When people understand early warning signs and know where to seek help, they are more likely to access screening and treatment before complications develop. Increased awareness can also help reduce fear, myths, and misconceptions surrounding cancer.
We remain committed to delivering this important event and continue working toward the resources needed to launch preparations. As progress is made, we look forward to sharing updates on partnerships, planning activities, and community participation ahead of World Cancer Day 2027.
Thank you for helping promote early detection and cancer awareness in communities where information can save lives.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
