Ichabires irake! / Many thanks!
Four more months of building and now the end is in sight! The final pieces of infraestructure for the Jakon Rate Center for Shipibo-Konibo Studies will be complete by the end of the year, including our website jakonrate.org!
Our partnership with Alianza Arkana continues as we look after all the new medicinal plants and trees, like the aguaje (Mauritia flexuosa) seen below. Additional fields of plantains, bananas, sweet potato and cassava have been prepared, planted, and maintained over the dry season.
Educational workshops are now being organized, including ceramics and cloth weaving! The whole Jakon Rate family is excited to enter the new year completely focused on our mission to regenerate traditonal cultural spaces and educate others about the wisdom held in our culture, language, and land!
We appreciate all our your support in making this possible, especially our past and new recurring donors! Please make a donation now to continue our good work and plant our low lands with flood resistant trees to provide a natural boundary of food, medicine, fuel, and fibers!
Jakon nete kanoya! / The life-giving good essence of creation is with you all!
