A meeting of two cultures - what did we understand

By Valentyna Butenko | Lider projekt

  . . .

A meeting of two cultures - what did we understand?

Dear friends, our project lives despite your minimal support. We understand that there are many needs for charity now.

The goal of our project is the creative unification of gifted blind poets and performers of the author's patriotic song around national Ukrainian culture and the idea of Ukraine's victory for the sake of peace, interaction and mutual understanding of all people, the formation of a positive image of Ukrainians with disabilities as creative and self-sufficient people.

We continue to support Ukrainian blind poets, popularize their talents. We published a collection of poems and songs by festival participants - "The Spring That Couldn't Be"

The project "Meeting of two cultures" in Bremen, Germany became a continuation of ours. As part of the project, a concert of patriotic songs for peace by Ukrainian and German performers, a round table, and excursions were organized. Ukrainian participants learned a lot about German culture and presented Ukrainian culture.

Unfortunately, German blind people know very little about Ukrainian culture. They were very surprised by the quality of the performances of the Ukrainian participants.

One of the tasks of the project was to support rehabilitation programs for people who lost their sight during the Russian aggression.

The next humanitarian cargo was sent in May 2024 to Vinnytsia and Kharkiv.

Together with our German partners, we handed over 6 devices for reading, 2 Braille typewriters, tonometers, scales and devices for measuring pressure with voice control.

Your help is very important to us. Thanks to this, we continue to introduce Ukrainian culture to other countries and support talented people with severe visual impairments. And their poems and songs will be read and listened to in different parts of Ukraine and Europe.
