Menstrual Dignity for Refugee Women

We want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support in addressing menstrual inequality, especially during situations of conflict and natural disasters. Your dedication has allowed us to reach more women, girls and people who menstruate, and we are incredibly thankful for your ongoing support.

One powerful example is our recent outreach to support people in Gaza. In June 2023, Days for Girls (DfG) partnered with Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) to deliver 3,000 DfG Kits to refugee camps in Jordan. This was part of an ongoing partnership that allowed us to pivot to support the emerging needs of what we assessed across the border. When conflict erupted in Gaza, DfG and MAP adapted and redirected DfG Kits to meet the urgent needs of women and girls there.

This rapid response showcases the power of collaboration. Today, DfG Collection Points in the U.S. are preparing 2,990 additional DfG Kits to replenish those sent to Gaza, ensuring MAP can continue their planned distributions.

Providing DfG Kits and menstrual health education goes beyond providing tangible outputs of items where they are most needed; it also reflects outcomes related to changing attitudes, perceptions, and how individuals regard their bodily autonomy. Each Kit represents knowledge, respect, and dignity for one’s menstrual health. It is a symbol of resilience and self-care in challenging times, an achievement that not only highlights the power of collaboration but also signifies the positive impact we can make when working together.
