In Haiti, violence and instability have forced over 1,600 schools to close, leaving more than 1.5 million children without access to education. Through the Global Girl Leadership Initiative, delivered with our partner Fondation TOYA, girls build leadership skills, identify challenges in their communities, and lead action for change. Join us in empowering 100 girls by helping us raise $2,500 to run this three-month leadership programme. Every donation makes a difference.
Haiti faces a severe humanitarian and security crisis. Armed gangs control much of Port-au-Prince, over 1,600 schools have closed, and 1.5 million children are out of school. Girls face heightened risks of violence, exploitation, and exclusion from leadership opportunities, limiting their ability to shape solutions in their communities. Without safe spaces to learn and lead, many girls' voices remain unheard. Investing in their leadership strengthens communities.
Through the Global Girl Leadership Initiative, 100 girls will participate in 11 weekly sessions led by local women facilitators. Girls build leadership skills, identify issues in their communities, and design solutions. The programme ends with a girl-led community event, where participants lead conversations and actions to address local challenges. They learn to use their voices with confidence. Their ideas inspire action and dialogue in their communities.
This project will train 100 girls in Haiti through a three-month leadership programme delivered with our local partner, Fondation TOYA. Girls will gain confidence, leadership skills, and the ability to speak out on issues affecting their lives. As they lead community events and inspire others, they create ripple effects that challenge harmful norms and encourage girls' leadership. Over time, this helps strengthen communities and expand opportunities for girls to lead change.
